Service Description

Under its establishing Law No. (32) of 2008, the Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department is tasked with proceeding with all claims and disputes to which the Government or Government entities in the Emirate of Dubai are party, through a specialised team of legal counsel. The Department undertakes the following functions:

  • Receiving complaints and claims against Government and Government entities and seeking amicable settlement of these, in accordance with statutory procedures.
  • Receiving requests from the Government or Government entities concerning claims filed against third parties and seeking amicable settlement of these, in accordance with statutory procedures.
  • Representing the Government and Government entities in claims and disputes, to which they are party, and taking all necessary steps to proceed with such claims before the appropriate judicial authorities, including special tribunals and arbitration and conciliation committees and centres, until a final decision is made.
  • Taking all steps necessary to implement the decisions issued by courts, tribunals and arbitration and conciliation centers, in favour of the Government and Government entities.
