The Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department showcases its Achievements and Initiatives at DIGAE

The Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department is participating in the Dubai International Government Achievements Exhibition.
The Department unveiled its key innovative achievements, initiatives and smart services tailored to optimize the provision of services to meet the needs and expectations of customers.  
His Excellency Dr. Lowai Belhoul, Director General of the Department, affirmed that this event serves as a platform to share knowledge, experience, achievements and services developed by the Department to achieve excellence and pioneering in government legal work. Participating in this Exhibition comes in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai to achieve the happiness of customers.
During the Exhibition, the Department displayed its key innovative achievements, initiatives and projects, such as the "Holistic Innovation System" launched by the Department in order to build an integrated administrative system boosting innovation in legal work, providing innovative legal services and fostering a creative workplace.
The Department also displayed the Continuous Legal Professional Development Program launched by the Department to provide a world-class legal professional training environment, raise the efficiency and skills of legal consultants, improve the standard of legal services provided in Dubai and equip legal consultants with the requisite skills to align them with the profession's developments.
The Department presented its Smart App for legal practitioners developed to allow them to submit requests for both initial and renewal of their registration in addition to requests to license and renew the license of advocacy and legal consultancy firms. Using their smart device, customers can conveniently track the status of their requests online. This App also contains a directory of legal practitioners, listing the  names of advocates and legal consultants registered with the Department and the firms licensed to practice the legal profession in Dubai.
The Government Entities Portal was also displayed by the Department which allows  government entities to seek the assistance of the Department in drafting and reviewing government contracts and agreements. The Portal enables them to submit requests related to Government Disputes and Claims. Users can conveniently track, update, check and add activities to their requests online without the need to come in person to the Department.​
Furthermore, the smart App allows customers to submit their complaints against government entities in the emirate of Dubai to the Department. The Department seeks to settle the dispute amicably within two (2) months of the date of receiving the complaint. After this date, the complainant may file proceedings against the Government entity.
With regard to legal services, the Department showcased its "Ask a Lawyer" service, which allows users to receive answers to simple legal enquiries from an advocate or legal consultant registered with the Department.
