As part of its continuous efforts to enhance institutional and vocational performance, in line with the visionary leadership of the UAE, the Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department has honored its winning employees in the first round of Al Qestas Excellence Award.

His Excellency Dr. Lowai Belhoul, Director General of the Department, affirmed that the Award aims to foster the culture of excellence among all organisational units and raise the bar of performance to match international practices. The award also seeks to create a competitive work place that attracts qualified employees in line with the strategic and operational goals of the Department.

During the ceremony, Dr. Lowai described the efforts and achievements of distinguished qualified employees who strive to make every effort to achieve outstanding results and achievements as the central component of the vision of the Department -  aiming to attain pioneering and excellence in government legal work.

Dr. Lowai presented appreciation trophies and awards to the first placed winning employees for the following categories: Best Head of Directorate, Distinguished Employee in a Supervisory Positon, Distinguished Employee in a Technical Position, Distinguished Employee in a Specialised Position (this includes Employees in Support Positons), Distinguished Employees in Field Work, Distinguished Administrative Employee, Distinguished Customer Service Employee, Distinguished New Joiner, Innovative Employee, and the "Unknown Soldier". Winners of the second and third places for each of the Award categories were also honored.

The participants were assessed by a team of external assessors to ensure impartiality, integrity and autonomy of the assessment, which  was  modelled on the criteria used in the Dubai Government Excellence Program. The assessment process comprised four subject areas: performance and achievement, initiative and innovation, continued education, and supervisory skills.
