Legal Affairs Department Launches Al Al Qestas Excellence Award
As part of its efforts to implement criteria of government excellence in the workplace in line with the visionary leadership of the UAE, the Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department launched
Al Qestas Excellence Award, which aims to reward distinguished employees of the Department in various legal disciplines.
During the launch ceremony which was attended by all staff of the Department, His Excellency Dr. Lowai Belhoul, Director General of the Department, said that "launching the award affirms the Department's belief in the workforce as the key pivot of corporate excellence. The award seeks to foster a culture of excellence among employees of the Department through creating an environment of competitiveness. The best candidates in various categories will be selected according to specific criteria. Dr. Lowai added that the award will contribute to boosting the morale of employees and creating a work environment that can attract competent and highly qualified employees, who are capable of "raising the bar" of corporate performance at all levels.
The award covers the following categories: Best Head of Directorate, Distinguished Employee in a Supervisory Positon, Distinguished Employee in a Technical Position, Distinguished Employee in a Specialised Position (this includes Employees in Supporting Positons), Distinguished Employees in Field Work, Distinguished Administrative Employee, Distinguished Customer Service Employee, Distinguished New Joiner, Innovative Employee, and the "Unknown Soldier".
A team of external assessors will assess the participants to ensure impartiality, integrity and autonomy of the assessment, which will be modelled on the criteria used in the Dubai Government Excellence Program. The assessment process comprises four subject areas: performance and achievement, initiative and innovation, continued education, and supervisory skills.
