Legal Affairs Department Receives ISO 9001: 2015

The Government of Dubai Affairs Department (the Department) has been awarded  ISO 9001:2015.  This substantial accolade is in recognition of its relentless efforts to develop its systems and services in line with best international standards and management systems in "providing legal services to the Government of Dubai and its entities" and "regulating  the advocacy and legal consultancy professions in Dubai".  

His Excellency Dr Lowai Belhoul, Director General of the Department, graciously received the ISO certificate, awarded by TUV InterCert SAAR, from Ms. Lamis Maraqa, Regional Director of TUV InterCert in the Middle East, in the presence of Mr. Jalal Nashwan, Mr. Nael Abu Zaid, Office Manager of Global Business Bureau (the certified agent of TUV InterCert), and the delighted employees of the Department.

  Dr. Belhoul remarked that obtaining this certificate allows the Department  to become more competitive locally and internationally. He highlighted the importance of this international certification as recognition of the Department's compliance with  best global practices in all work processes and operations, and of the employees' application of the quality policy.

Dr. Belhoul attributed this achievement to the sustained efforts of all employees. However, he emphasised that in achieving this award,  it is vital that the Department  continues to develop and improve  our operations and processes and places ever greater responsibility upon the Department  to work harder towards achieving the visions and aspirations of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, Ruler of Dubai, to achieve excellence in government performance and bring happiness to customers and other stakeholders.

In closing, Ms. Maraqa, noted that "the management system applied at your Department, based on the requirements and concepts of ISO 9001 – 2015, has a new perspective which not only supports continued development but forsees any risks that might delay or affect the achievement of the Department's objectives and strategies and provides alternative solutions and fine tuning tools that will minimise the impact of such risks".
