Legal Affairs Department and Dubai Judicial Institute Discuss Cooperation in Legal Professional Development Training
As part of sustained efforts to promote cooperation in the Continuous Legal Professional Development (CLPD) projects and programmes, His Excellency Dr. Lowai Belhoul, the Director General of the Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department, received a delegation from the Dubai Judicial Institute headed by its Director General, Dr. Jamal Al Sumaiti, at Dubai Legal Professional Development Centre.
The delegation was given a comprehensive explanation of the Centre and its legal training programmes, particularly, a thorough description of various training programmes designed for employees of the Legal Affairs Department, employees of other government entities and, legal practitioners in the Emirate of Dubai.
The meeting highlighted the importance of fostering a knowledge sharing culture of continuous professional development and legal knowledge by offering CLPD programmes to legal practitioners in the Emirate and making these integral to their career. The two parties also emphasised the spectrum of the programmes in terms of both the enrichment of legal practitioners' legal knowledge and the practical tools to help them perform their duties effectively and accurately.
In addition, CLPD programmes allow legal practitioners to keep abreast of the latest developments in the legal profession locally and internationally, which sustains the improvement of the legal profession and enhances public confidence in the provision of legal services and their providers.
During the meeting, both parties also discussed avenues of further enhancing cooperation in implementing joint initiatives and projects with a view to developing the legal profession across various sectors in the Emirate of Dubai, and stressed the importance of coordination and integration between them and all entities associated with the legal profession in the UAE.
In conclusion, the delegation toured the centre's training rooms, lecture theatre and library.
