Director General of the Legal Affairs Department Issues Resolution to Form Consultative Committee of Advocates and Legal Consultants

As part of the Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department's efforts to continuously coordinate and communicate with practitioners of the advocacy and legal consultancy professions in the Emirate of Dubai, the Director General of the Department, H.E. Dr. Lowai Mohamed Belhoul issued a resolution to form the "Consultative Committee of Advocacy and Legal Consultancy Professions Affairs in the Emirate of Dubai".

This Resolution is intended to better enable the Department to receive and review the opinions and proposals of the legal practitioners. With a view to assisting the development of the profession, identifying the problems and obstacles faced by legal profession in the Emirate and finding ways to overcome them.

The Director General of the Department will chair the committee and membership will comprise a number of representatives of the advocacy and legal consultancy professions in the Emirate.

Dr. Lowai Belhoul emphasised that the formation of this Committee is as a result of the comprehensive revision of the Department's strategic plans relating to the regulation of the legal profession as set out in the Department's mission and vision. It will allow the Department to organize the advocacy and legal consultancy professions in accordance with international best practices and also enhance cooperation among practitioners and provide the Department an opportunity to brief them on the plans established by the Department in this regard.
