MOU Signed Between Legal Affairs Department Signs And The Dubai International Financial (DFIC) Courts Academy of Law

​In line with the Legal Affairs Department's objective to maintain and develop the legal profession in Dubai in accordance with best practice international standards, His Excellency Dr Lowai Mohamed Belhoul, the Director General of the Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department and Chief Justice Michael Hwang, Head of the DIFC Dispute Resolution Authority & DIFC Courts signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Monday 16/02/2015 with the Academy of Law, a division of the DIFC's Dispute Resolution Authority (DRA).  The agreement aims to enhance collaboration between the parties to support the continuing professional development of the Emirate’s advocates and legal consultants.

This agreement is the first such agreement signed by the Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department has signed with any legal training provider in the UAE. The Department aims to capitalise on the legal education and advancement initiatives in the Emirate through the courses offered by the Academy of Law.

The agreement also reflects the collaboration between the two organisations to further their shared goal of enriching and advancing the legal sector in line with international standards. This is part of the Department's continuous effort to consistently work with its members and partners to promote excellence in the practice of law in accordance with UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's "Dubai Government's national vision 2021."
