The Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department Participates with Knowledge-Sharing and Interactive Initiatives at AccessAbilities Expo 2026

The Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department has announced its participation in AccessAbilities Expo 2026, held at the Dubai World Trade Centre from October 19 to 21.

This participation aligns with the Department's commitment to supporting the Dubai Government's directives aimed at empowering People of Determination and integrating them into society, as well as reinforcing best practices that ensure an accessible and seamless experience for accessing the Department's services.

Interactive Initiatives

The Department highlighted that its participation features an interactive laboratory designed to test its digital services and social media channels.

The initiative enables participating People of Determination to experience these digital platforms firsthand, assess their usability, and share valuable feedback. This input will directly inform future enhancements across the Department's digital ecosystem—elevating the customer experience for People of Determination and driving efficiency and inclusivity in line with Dubai Government directives to design accessible services for all community members.

Furthermore, the Department is highlighting its visual sign language guide tailored for People of Determination, which defines essential legal terminology related to the Department's responsibilities and customer services.

Developed in collaboration with the Community Development Authority in Dubai (CDA), the guide helps hearing-impaired People of Determination navigate key terms commonly used in everyday legal transactions within the Department's mandate. This empowers them to clearly articulate their service needs, enhances their legal awareness, and enables them to access services independently and seamlessly.

Panel Discussion

As part of the knowledge-sharing programme on the sidelines of its participation, the Department is hosting a panel discussion titled "The Role of the Family in Supporting People of Determination: From Care to Empowerment."

The session features Her Excellency Maitha Al Shamsi, Executive Director of the Community Empowerment Sector at the Community Development Authority in Dubai (CDA), and Her Excellency Mona Khalifa Hammad, Member of the Federal National Council (FNC).

The discussion will explore the pivotal role families play in empowering People of Determination, the legislative and social frameworks that reinforce this role, and the importance of creating a supportive environment that fosters their independence. It will also highlight the integration between families and community entities to build a sustainable support system that ensures the active inclusion of People of Determination across all spheres of life.

Shared Responsibility

Commenting on the occasion, HE Dr Lowai Mohamed Belhoul, Director General of the Department, stated: “The Department's annual participation in the AccessAbilities Expo stems from the vision of our wise leadership, which has made empowering People of Determination a national priority and a shared responsibility across all entities, reinforcing Dubai's position as an accessible city for all."

“This participation provides a valuable platform to exchange best practices alongside leading government and private entities, experts, and specialized institutions. It also offers an opportunity to explore cutting-edge initiatives, solutions, and technologies that foster the active inclusion and participation of People of Determination in society."
