The Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department Launches New Legal Profession System via its Digital Channels

As part of its ongoing commitment to enhancing the tools for delivering services to its customers, the Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department has launched the new Legal Profession System, in line with the implementation of its strategic directives regarding the digitisation of services.

Integrated Digital Services

The new system provides comprehensive services covering all aspects related to the Department's customers, including advocates and legal consultants registered in the Emirate. It employs integrated solutions that contribute to delivering the highest standards of service quality and achieving a qualitative shift in the digital transformation of the services provided by the Department. These services include registration, licensing and professional conduct, in alignment with the directives of the Government of Dubai regarding the continuous development of Government services.

The Department explained that the new system has numerous features that contribute to ensuring an optimal customer journey. Foremost among these is the “one-stop shop" approach, which allows customers to access all required services through a single window, without the need to navigate between multiple entities.

The system integrates the services provided to advocates, legal consultants, and their firms with relevant Government entities, thereby saving the customer's time and effort, enhancing the flexibility and ease of procedures, and prioritising the delivery of distinguished Government services.

The Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department observed that the re-engineering of services within the new Legal Profession System has contributed to reducing the required documents, thereby streamlining the experience for customers. This is in addition to the flexibility the system offers by enabling users to access the Department's services using their digital identity and to seamlessly navigate between service delivery channels, through the Department's website or smart application.

Strategic Priority

His Excellency Dr. Lowai Mohamed Belhoul, Director General of the Department, asserted that the Department places its customers at the forefront of its strategic priorities. This is achieved through a continuous commitment to streamlining their experience in accessing services by leveraging digital solutions and utilising advanced technologies to save time, effort, and costs.

His Excellency added that this approach involves automating internal processes to enhance the efficiency and quality of institutional work, ensuring the delivery of innovative and advanced Government and professional legal services. Dr. Belhoul also noted that building partnerships and fostering integration with relevant Government entities involved in service delivery has been instrumental in achieving this strategic goal, which ultimately ensures an optimal customer journey.
