The Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department raises awareness of its employees about tools for legislative compliance

As part of its responsibility to establish the rule of law, and to enhance the capabilities of its employees that shore up the continuous improvement of institutional performance, the Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department held a workshop to raise awareness among its employees on the tools for measuring the legislative compliance index to which the Department and the Government entities in the Emirate of Dubai are subject, as one of the main central indicators for measuring corporate excellence.

The workshop aims to introduce the methodology followed by the Government of Dubai in measuring the extent of Government entities' compliance with the legislation regulating their functions, to ensure compliance with the applicable legislation, and filling any gaps impeding the right execution, while taking corrective measures that may be included in the central legislative audit reports on the Government entities.

The workshop also shed light on the significance of the indicator in the efficiency of government work through adherence to standards and procedures that are subject to legislative frameworks, which is reflected in an institutional system that is consistent with the status of the Dubai government, and achieves its goals and priorities in enhancing the confidence of clients and partners in the legal system in the Emirate of Dubai.

The workshop comes as part of a set of procedures and policies followed by the Department in raising awareness of corporate governance principles and achieving transparency and accountability. The effectiveness of these indicators is reflected in the rate of compliance achieved in 2023, which reached 100%. This confirms the keenness of the Department to provide its legal services at the highest level in terms of procedural accuracy that contributes to establishing the rule of law in government work and among various segments of society.
