Legal Affairs Department and Dubai Courts Discuss the Development of Joint Work in Execution Proceedings

As part of the efforts made to raise the bar of cooperation between Government Entities and contribute to establish rule of law, the Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department held a coordination meeting with the Execution Court in Dubai, during which the two parties discussed several topics aimed at developing procedures related to the execution of judgments and writs of execution.

During the meeting, the two parties reviewed an inventory of penal rulings, in collaboration with other relevant Government entities, notably those rulings related to restitution, compensation, fines, and other civil rights in favor of the Government and Government entities. This streamlines the necessary legal measures towards initiating execution proceedings as soon as the court verdict is rendered, collecting financial dues, and expediting provisional attachments against judgment debtors in accordance with civil and criminal procedure legislation, as well as the legislation related to the recovery of public funds and illegally obtained funds, and the collection of amounts adjudicated in favor of those entities.

During the meeting, the parties hailed the role of the "IFSAH" platform, a digital system launched by the Execution Court that provides data through an electronic link with relevant authorities to instantly seize funds from judgment debtors in favor of Government entities and else. This innovation shores up the efforts of the Government of Dubai in providing sophisticated infrastructure that develops services and preserves rights.

The meeting was attended by Legal Counsel Salah Jassim Bin Kalban, Director of Government Disputes and Claims Directorate and Legal Counsel Ahmed Fawzyi Mohamed, Head of Execution Section from the Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department, and by Judge Khaled Obaid Al-Mansoori, President of the Execution Court, Jassim Mohammed Ibrahim Al Zarouni, Senior Appeal Court Judge, and Ali Al Shamsi, Judge at the Criminal Court, from Dubai Courts.
