The Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department concluded its events marking the UAE Reading Month 2023

The Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department concluded its events marking the UAE Reading Month 2023, which included launching the law library, allowing all employees of H.H. The Ruler's Court and government departments attached to it to draw from a variety of sources of legal information available in the Department's library, to enhance knowledge partnerships across the Government of Dubai.

The events marking the UAE Reading Month also included a lecture on the regulatory framework for the Reading Month, which reflects the comprehensive national project adopted by the UAE in consolidating its position as a hub for culture and knowledge, where young generations would be capable of shaping a better future and maintain a sustainable civilizational project through reading. The events were also marked by a lecture on the Arabic language skills legal staff need in their work.

As part of the Reading Month, the Department also organized a visit to Mohammed bin Rashid Library, during which employees of the Department learned about this knowledge edifice, which represents a leading platform for reading. During the visit, the delegation was briefed on the library's different sections, books, periodicals and rare collections, in addition to its state-of-the art digital systems.

In this regard, His Excellency Dr. Lowai Mohamed Belhoul, Director General of the Department, stated that reading has always been such a good investment in the UAE with a view to developing minds and to nurturing the values of the UAE. Anyone who looks into the history of the UAE is certainly aware that reading is inherent in its strength and cannot be separated or isolated from its pioneering experience or from its comprehensive development. In the UAE, books have been a symbol of science and culture and a vehicle for raising awareness and shaping a better future.

His Excellency Dr. Belhoul affirmed that our leadership devoted great attention to reading as an important factor in helping the country stay the course and complete its development journey, promoting cultural exchanges, benefiting from the knowledge in the different books. His Excellency added that under the guidance of our leadership reading has become not only a daily practice but also a lasting national project.
