The Legal Affairs Department concludes its international training program in Mediation and Amicable Settlement of Civil and Commercial Disputes

His Excellency Dr. Lowai Mohamed Belhoul, Director General of the Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department attended the graduation of the second batch of the international training program in Mediation and Amicable Settlement of Civil and Commercial Disputes launched by the Department in collaboration with the ADR Center, an internationally accredited center for qualifying mediators.

The training program, which ran for (40) training hours over five days and was conducted in Arabic and English, was attended by 61 participants from government entities in the Emirate of Dubai and legal practitioners from advocacy and legal consultancy firms registered with the Department, in addition to employees from the Department. The Program qualifies participants in acquiring fundamental skills in alternative civil and commercial dispute resolution and mastering the techniques of professional mediators in line with best international standards and practices.

During his speech at the conclusion of the program, His Excellency Dr. Belhoul, stressed the Department's keenness to support all alternative methods to litigation and resolving disputes in a manner that guarantees the rule of law and achieve expeditious justice. His Excellency added that the Department prioritizes spreading awareness on the importance of mediation and possessing negotiating tools and advocating their adoption and application in resolving disputes.

His Excellency affirmed that this program is in line with the directives of the Government of Dubai to strengthen constructive partnerships aimed at exchanging experiences and enhancing legal skills in the Emirate of Dubai. His Excellency called upon the participants to employ all the legal skills and knowledge they have acquired in their practice, in such a way that achieves the objectives of the program.
