The Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department Receives the Executive Director of the International Bar Association

His Excellency Dr. Lowai Mohamed Belhoul, Director General of the Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department, received, in his office, Dr. Mark Ellis, the Executive Director of the International Bar Association (IBA) and Chairman of the CEELI Institute, and briefed him about the Department's practices in developing professional work related to the provision of legal services.

At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency Dr. Belhoul highlighted the significance of such a visit that would allow sharing experiences and consolidating cooperation with international institutions concerned with legal work. His Excellency also explored with his guest ways to enhance partnership with IBA in legal work to further contribute to the promotion of rule of law.

His Excellency Dr. Belhoul stated that the Department is working to keep pace with developments in the legal work, in a manner that would help Dubai retain its leading position in providing groundbreaking legal services and furnish the conditions for creating an attractive environment for investment in light of the diversified expertise of advocacy and legal consultancy firms licensed by the Department.

In turn, the Executive Director of IBA expressed his hope of strengthening cooperation with the Department by holding specialized conferences and joint training programs to exchange experiences considering the good reputation and experience of the Emirate of Dubai in the legal industry.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Juma Al Falasi, Director of the Advocates and Legal Consultants Affairs Directorate, and Mr. Essam Al Tamimi, Senior Partner and Founder of Al Tamimi & Company Advocates and Legal Consultants.
