The Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department briefs Dubai Culture on its Practices in Automating Legal Services

The Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department and Dubai Culture and Arts Authority "Dubai Culture" held a virtual meeting to brief Dubai Culture of the Department's best practices in automating legal services provided to its customers.

Dr. Juma Al Falasi, Director of the Advocates and Legal Consultants Affairs Directorate, Head of the Information Security Committee in the Department, welcomed the attendees and hailed the Department's keenness to strengthen institutional partnerships with Government entities and sharing experiences and practices in the various fields that serve government work in the Emirate of Dubai.

Dr. Al Falasi stated that the Department is keen to develop its digital infrastructure and technical systems in a manner that will enable the Department to provide its services more efficiently and effectively in accordance with best global practices in the field of electronic security. This requires secured digital environment that guarantees the highest level of confidentiality and credibility, and compliance with the rules for the exchange and protection of information assets. Dr. Al Falasi added that this approach comes in line with the Dubai Electronic Security Center's requirements tailored to ensure data protection through the application of policies and procedures related to information management and the identification of the appropriate measures for the safe and reliable handling and maintaining of data, in accordance with applicable laws and policies in the Government of Dubai.

Additionally, Ms. Eman Abdelhadi, Head of LAD Communication and Documentation Section, briefed the attendees on the Case Management System (Tawtheeq), which is a comprehensive digital system for managing and maintaining all files and requests received by the Department and related to the legal services it provides to its customers. The number of transactions registered through Tawtheeq in 2021 reached nearly 6000.

Ms. Eman stated that to complete the automation of all legal services, the Department updated the Dubai Government Unified Legal Services Portal, which allows representatives of Government entities to access any of the legal services provided by the Department.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Juma Al Falasi, Ms. Al Reem AlFalasi, Director of Support Services Directorate, Ms. Eman Abdelhadi and Anas Eltahir, Head of Information Technology Section, from the Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department, and Mr. Khaled Alhashmi, Director of Legal Affairs Office from Dubai Culture, in addition to other staff from both entities
