Legal Affairs Department to Exhibit Latest Digital Systems In GITEX

The Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department participated in GITEX Technology Exhibition 2021, held at Dubai World Trade Centre from October 17th to 21st, to showcase its latest initiatives and services through the Dubai Smart Government platform.

In conjunction with its participation, the Department launched its new website to enhance the customer experience through an interface that supports various electronic devices and different smart phone operating systems, which, (after update), would meet the aspirations of customers in terms of speed and ease of access to the Department's services.

The Department also launched the instant chat service to enable website visitors to communicate continuously and instantly with the Department and obtain answers to their inquiries in relation to the Department's services.

Contemporaneously, the Department is launching a new version of the Legal Professions System (LPS), which would allow advocates and legal consultants to obtain the digital or electronic services provided by the Department, which supports strengthening institutional performance in a manner that serves the indicators of the electronic and smart government strategy and is consistent with the digital practices in line the standards of Government work in the Emirate of Dubai.

During the exhibition, the Department showcased its successful experience in remote business continuity, through an electronic working system that provided effective communication channels for customers enabling them to obtain services according to the highest standards and requirements of business continuity, relying on technical capabilities that would ensure the achievement of strategic goals with the requisite quality and efficiency.

The Department also launched a project to classify the particular disciplines of registered legal profession practitioners. The project aims to the public obtain the necessary information and details of advocates, legal consultants and firms they wish to deal with.

In this respect, His Excellency Dr. Lowai Mohamed Belhoul, Director General of the Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department emphasised that the Department's participation in this global technological event comes as part the Department's keenness to showcase its experiences and to learn about the latest innovative digital solutions that may be useful to its work in providing innovative government legal services that are commensurate with the digital revolution (which adopts the visions of the astute leadership in implementing the latest technologies in government work and in enhancing the happiness of customers).

Dr. Belhoul added that the Department possesses a sophisticated digital structure that contributes to providing a smooth experience for its customers in obtaining its services. Additionally, this structure ensures business continuity under any unforeseen circumstances, with full commitment to information security controls within a secure electronic environment in which the procedures and policies applicable in the Government of Dubai are applied.
