The Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department participated in the "UAE Innovates 2021" with several initiatives. Among the most prominent of its initiatives is "the Most Innovative Idea Competition" which aims to foster a spirit of innovation and creativity among its employees by urging them to share their suggestions in various areas of work in the Department.

The Department's participation in the innovation week also featured a knowledge workshop on the "UAE's Journey of Innovation", which aims to raise awareness among its employees about the efforts which the UAE has made, and continues to make, in the field of innovation as part of the national strategy launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai (May Allah protect him) with the aim of making the UAE one of the most innovative nations in the world in 2021.

As part of its efforts to adopt policies and take measures that ensure a vibrant and sustainable workplace that contributes to the continuous improvement of the innovation index, the Department participated in this national event by launching its "Innovation Charter".  The objective of the charter is to highlight the consistency of the Department's policies with the national strategies, policies, bylaws and the relevant Government directives concerning innovation and to emphasise the Department's priorities and responsibilities of fostering a culture of creativity and innovation among its employees.

Based on the pivotal role that the "UAE Strategy for the Future" plays in developing government corporate work, and ensuring competitiveness stemming from creative ideas, the Department held a specialised workshop on forward-thinking and innovation Post-Covid-19, presented by Dr. Juma Obaid AlFalasi, Director of the Department's Innovation and Creativity Section. The workshop addressed the role of creative thinking in dealing with the new changes caused by this Pandemic in the legal work.

The workshop also discussed the significance of brainstorming sessions for reaching informed solutions and innovative ways of thinking in dealing with the future challenges, and adopting a forward-thinking approach in the development of corporate work in terms of security and justice as part of the Preparation for Next 50 Years Plan.

His Excellency Dr. Lowai Mohamed Belhoul, Director General of the Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department emphasised that the Department is keen to pave the path for its employees to come up with more innovative ideas that will enhance institutional performance and provide added value services for its clients.
