The Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department Achieve 100% Transformation to Smart Services

The Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department has announced the completion of the transformation to smart channels in all of its services provided to customers, including government entities, practitioners of the legal profession and the public, in line with the insightful vision of the visionary leadership, to make Dubai the smartest city in  the world.

In this regard, His Excellency Dr. Lowai Mohammed Belhoul, Director General of The Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department said that the Department has successfully achieved the complete migration  to smart services. Consequently, this is reflected in statistics  showing that the use of digital services by advocates and legal consultants has increased to nearly 98%. Smart transactions include submitting an application for an initial registration, renewal of  registration  and, the licensing of advocacy and legal consultancy firms  in the Emirate of Dubai. Additionally, the  use of  digital services, provided by the Department to government entities, legal practitioners and the public, has reached approximately 90%.

At the commencement of the Department's participation in  GITEX Technology Week, held at Dubai World Trade Centre from October 6th to 10th,  Dr Belhoul stated that in accordance with "Dubai Paperless Strategy 2021", which was launched by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, who set the date of Dec 12, 2021 as a deadline for the last paper-based government transaction, that the Department's has reduced its paper usage to 10% this year compared to 27% in 2018.

As part of its efforts to keep abreast of the rapid technological developments in the provision of its services, which contributes to enhancing  customer happiness and the highest satisfaction rates, the Department was ranked in third place amongst Dubai Government entities in complying with Dubai data standards and policies.
