LAD participates in “A Day without Service Centres” initiative

The Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department is taking part in "A Day without Service Centres" which was approved by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

The Initiative, recently launched by the Department of Finance for the Government of Dubai (DOF), aims to encourage customers to turn to smart channels to pay the fees for government services and transactions.

His Excellency Dr Lowai Belhoul, Director General of the Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department reaffirmed the Department's firm steps towards making Dubai the smartest and happiest city on earth in fulfilment of the vision of the insightful leadership. Dr. Lowai stated that Thursday 26th October 2017, the Department would provide its services to legal practitioners through electronic channels and smart Apps only. Consequently, transactions requiring payments at the Department's customer service centres will not be accepted during this day. Instead all transactions, including the payment processes, will be processed through the Legal Profession System via the Department's Website or the Updated Smart App. The Department will seek to raise awareness among its clients regarding the importance of using smart channels.

Dr. Lowai pointed out that the Department offers its clients a set of smart services such as registration of legal consultants and advocates, requests for law firms licenses, legal advice etc... via many smart channels like the Legal Profession Licensing System which allows legal practitioners to submit their requests through their smart devices.

The Department provides other smart services through the "Government Entities Gate", which enables government entities in the Emirate of Dubai to submit requests to the Department to obtain government legal support services including requests to draft and review contracts and government agreements.
