Legal Affairs Department to exhibit latest Initiatives and Smart Services at GITEX

The Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department is showcasing its latest smart apps and services intended for Government entities, legal professionals and the public in the Emirate of Dubai.

His Excellency Dr. Lowai Mohamed Belhoul, Director General of the Department said that the participation in GITEX Technology Week aims to brief customers, partners and members of the public on key smart services, initiatives and development projects introduced by the Department for this year. This is in line with the insightful vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE to transform Dubai into the world's smartest and happiest city.

Dr. Belhoul explained that the Department, as part of its continuous efforts to improve the quality of services in accordance with its strategic plan and Dubai Plan 2021 to bring happiness to customers and meet their expectations, has developed its smart apps to enable advocates, legal consultants, Government entities and members of the public to make use of services online without having to visit the Department. His Excellency noted also that the first day of the Department's participation marked the launch of the updated website.

His Excellency added that the Department is committed to implementing the Dubai Government's strategy for smart transformation, promotion of innovation and optimal application of modern technology in all fields. The Department's participation in GITEX is an opportunity to introduce its services and smart apps and also to become acquainted with smart solutions, initiatives and services developed by other participants. Applicants can now use the smart app developed by the Department to apply for a number of services, most notably licensing of legal practitioners and law firms.

The smart app also encompasses the "Government Entities' Portal", which enables Government entities in Dubai to apply for a wide range of legal support services, including disputes and Government claims, drafting and reviewing of contracts and agreements entered into by Government entities, and other legal services provided by the Department .
