The Director General
It is an honour and privilege to extend my sincerest appreciation and gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, for the kind patronage and support shown to the Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department, which was established owing to his visionary leadership and insightful guidance.
Through the embodiment of His Highness vision and the implementation of his aspirations to lead the Emirate in all economic, social and developmental sectors, the Department, since its inception in 2008 seeks to enhance and develop the legal framework of the Government. Thus improving and broadening the legal services provided to our clients that meet the overall developing demands of the Emirate of Dubai.
The Department is committed to enhancing the management of all complaints made against Government entities, to ensure all complaints are settled amicably. The Department further represents all Government entities in the Emirate of Dubai with their claims and disputes before competent judicial authorities, reconciliation committees and arbitration centers. In addition to this, the Department undertakes its mandate to regulate the licensing of advocacy and legal consultancy firms in the Emirate of Dubai  and regulate the practice of individual legal professionals by registering all advocates and legal consultants and supervise their training. 
Amongst the Department’s various responsibilities, the Department strives to build on the confidence of our esteemed leadership, as this serves as a continuous source of inspiration to strengthen the relationship with our strategic partners and improve and enhance our legal services to meet the best practices of international standards. In doing so, the Department remains innovative in undertaking the Government legal services. Therefore, our website was designed as a platform for communication that connects Government entities, members of the advocacy and legal consultancy profession as well as the public. The website shall support and assist all our clients to electronically submit and follow up their applications.
The Department encourages innovation and strives for excellence. We continue to promotes confidence, build trust that preserves the principles of our leadership.
